This enchanted me, and struck me as timely with the Moon now waning....and Mercury in its retrograde (in Scorpio).
What will come back or be resurrected from the (near) dead, in this season of mystery? Mercury is retro to November 10th.

I woke up thinking about missing stories... That things are intense for a lot of people, but we're not hearing their stories. And I thought of reality shows. It seems (though I don't watch them), the idea is to "show" the cosmetic, the trivial or material. We live in extreme times, but the narration is somehow off. Mercury in Scorpio is a translator that senses what's inauthentic in tone. And when something rings true, to the psychic roots. So, I was having a ponder about Mercury in Scorpio, in its shadow time, about to go retro (Oct 21st). And seeing now that Jupiter is in a close trine to Mercury, for elaborating on what's meaningful, and what's gone unsaid. That faith and growth (Jupiter) can come from sustained focus on what's really happening, beyond the shiny, smiley facade. This generous time to early December with Mercury in Scorpio can be one for sustained reflection. There may be a story that is dying to be expressed, or one that has the power to touch others deeply.
It's also favorable for investigation of anything that rings untrue. If veils part, and a deeper agenda revealed, then there's a real chance for emotional (and physical) security. Henry David Thoreau has the quote: "There are a thousand hacking at the branches of evil to one who is striking at the root." This can be a time of striking the root, and in doing so, coming home. _ Our farmlet is soaking wet, with flash floods almost every day -- to go along with this aqueous astro-weather. It's been a water-logged (but not hot) summer so far here. Here's my husband Sandor (left) on a forest walk just moments ago - before it started deluging again. I've felt the effects of Mercury's retrograde in cardinal water Cancer, and am getting into the spirit of retreat. Yesterday I was pulled to read and do some inner journeying-type exercises via the imagination...and this led to drifting off for a nap while it poured rain outside. It felt like productive lollygagging.... The combination of thick, humid air, and the reflective mood of Mercury has for me, been a tour of swampy places in the psyche. But, I've felt simultaneously optimistic, that deep soaking will lead to bringing home what's needed. And looking symbolically to Jupiter in Cancer, a renewed faith in journey through the terrain of the active imagination. Melody Scott Zindell writes (via newsletter), "With Neptune in its home sign of Pisces as a backdrop we are in very "watery" times, when emotions will move us to our dooms or enlightenment. At least that is what it will feel like as it is through our emotional body that spiritual evolution is both the most painful and the most productive." In what ways and how (what behaviors or habits) can cause stagnant pools to turn nightmarish? That will depend on how you move through and with your emotions. Mercury Rx with all the water swirling can at times create an atmosphere of feeling bogged down. The Crab is associated with the Moon, the ocean of emotion, and felt-knowing. Give yourself time to experience the tidal rhythm, and see what washes up on your shore. |
