Mercury Rx - Report from the Swamp

Our farmlet is soaking wet, with flash floods almost every day -- to go along with this aqueous astro-weather.  It's been a water-logged (but not hot) summer so far here.

Here's my husband Sandor (left) on a forest walk just moments ago - before it started deluging again.

I've felt the effects of Mercury's retrograde in cardinal water Cancer, and am getting into the spirit of retreat.  Yesterday I was pulled to read and do some inner journeying-type exercises via the imagination...and this led to drifting off for a nap while it poured rain outside.  It felt like productive lollygagging....

The combination of thick, humid air, and the reflective mood of Mercury has for me, been a tour of swampy places in the psyche.  But, I've felt simultaneously optimistic, that deep soaking will lead to bringing home what's needed.  And looking symbolically to Jupiter in Cancer, a renewed faith in journey through the terrain of the active imagination.

Melody Scott Zindell writes (via newsletter), "With Neptune in its home sign of Pisces as a backdrop we are in very "watery" times, when emotions will move us to our dooms or enlightenment.  At least that is what it will feel like as it is through our emotional body that spiritual evolution is both the most painful and the most productive."

In what ways and how (what behaviors or habits) can cause stagnant pools to turn nightmarish?  That will depend on how you move through and with your emotions.  Mercury Rx with all the water swirling can at times create an atmosphere of feeling bogged down.  The Crab is associated with the Moon, the ocean of emotion, and felt-knowing.  Give yourself time to experience the tidal rhythm, and see what washes up on your shore.

Give yourself time to experience the tidal rhythm, and see what washes up on your shore. Not looking good, but still optimitsic. Affirmations keeping me afloat.

Thanks for chiming in Angelica. This Mercury is one of the most subjective - deep in it, irrational, clouded by moods. Today was one of the first that was a bit dark for me, literally and psychically. This too shall pass - the astro-weather is always changing -- one thing to count on...hang in there!

Very soggy, indeed, and what a delicious post and imagery, Molly. This seems a very potent Mercury Rx, perhaps because it's joining into an already intense energetic set-up?

That 'productive lollygagging' may be the most productive activity we can be doing right now. Your mention of it reminded me that the imagination is one of our Sophia Endowments (and these gifts are often the most co-opted!). How exciting to be reclaiming it. :)

Love+Blessings+thanks again,
Jamie
